Petaluma is one of my favorite towns in the Bay Area extremely friendly and never too hectic. A fun fact about Petaluma is that they have recently tried to make the downtown area attractive to pedestrians. The entire downtown /river district has been given a makeover. It now has fun little corridors and sitting spaces that you can not reach if you are driving. All of which gives it the perfect atmosphere for a date night for you and your significant other!
So let’s get the night started!
Fancy a Game?
Your first stop is Buffalo Billiards, a pool room just near Petaluma downtown area, The place is full of pool tables and has a rustic feel to it. It’s a perfect place for you and your date to grab a beer and play a couple of rounds of pool. The rustic feel and the great people are great way to start the evening.
Feeling Hungry?
From Buffalo Billiards, you’ll walk a short half a block to Thai Issan for dinner. Thai Issan is amazing for date night – they have great exotic drinks and the venue itself is beautiful. Plus you and your date can sit down to eat on the floor! Not so many places you will have that experience. They have awesome pineapple fried rice that you have to try along with a thai tea of course. The food isn’t anything too exotic but they have such a nice venue that it’s worth going there just for that.
Sweets Anyone?
After you have eaten it’s time for some dessert so make your way to the Sweet Zone. This is a walk of around three blocks but there’s plenty of window shopping for knick knacks that you can do on your way. The Sweet Zone is where you’ll pick up your favorite candy and gelato. Also in that area is a cute fountain and a short walk from here is the beautiful Petaluma River look out point for you to enjoy.
Time for a Drink?
If you are still enjoying hanging out in the downtown area, make sure to stop by one of the cool bars in the neighborhood!
