Spend the Day in Santa Rosa
Santa Rosa has so many different parts to it that I am always finding something new. If you have a day to spare, here’s what I recommend.
Walk the Trails
One of my favorite activities is to go hiking. Right off Kawana Springs Road is a beautiful area that has multiple different trails called Taylor Mountain. It also has a full frisbee golf range if you’re interested. The views will take your breath away and they have roaming cows around and beautiful rolling hills. It is an open space preserve with roaming cows which is always fun to see. Spend an hour or two walking around and you’ll be ready to head to the next stop.
Refresh Yourself
After your long hike you will be quite thirsty. Head north a short distance and stop by the Naked Pig to grab a cool drink or a nice cup of coffee to re-energize. My personal favorite is the chai not too sweet and not to spicy. The Naked Pig is a farm to table place set up in an old Greyhound Bus stop. It’s quirky but in a good way. Every week they have a completely new menu so you will always be surprised each time you come. Here is my full review if you are interested.

Shop the Afternoon Away
From here you can make your way to the Santa Rosa Mall which is full of cute shops for you to enjoy. Or, if your tastes are a little more eclectic head to Railroad Square to hunt for a bargain in one of the second hand shops there. One of our favorites is Hot Couture-Vintage Fashion on 3rd Street.
Ready for Food?
Once you have had your fill of shopping, head over to Third Street Aleworks just two blocks away from the mall side entrance and a 10 minute walk from Railroad Square. Here you can fill up on great food and great beer to end your day. My personal favorite is the mac and cheese and you will probable want to carb up after all of that walking throughout your day. They have a great sampler for only $15 if you want to try all of their beers! Here is my full review.
